Call Us:

We believe the child is central to any curriculum, which is why we have developed a uniquely blended curriculum based on national and international standards to provide:

A Montessori curriculum to provide a solid base of learning with practical activities which are age appropriate, child friendly, child centred, encourage auto-learning, develop self confidence and independence

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance, which is a statutory framework that sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to 5. It sets the standards that all early years providers (nursery schools) must meet to ensure children learn and develop, and are healthy and safe. It aids teaching and learning to promote school readiness and equips children with the knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation to make progress through school and life.

The developmental statements in these areas help practitioners to identify and plan for the childrens individual interests and abilities.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development supports children to develop a sense of themselves, social skills and respect for others and a positive disposition to learn. Childrens emotional well-being also needs to be supported in order to help them understand and manage their feelings and behaviour

Physical Development supports children in using their senses and bodies to explore the world around them and make connections between new and existing knowledge. They should have the chance to be active and interact with things to improve their skills of coordination, control, manipulation and movement. Children also need to develop an understanding of healthy living practices.

Communication and Language supports childrens developing competence in listening and understanding as well as speaking and communicating. Children should be given opportunities to build these skills and gain confidence to use them in a range of situations.

Mathematics supports children to develop their understanding and use of numbers, calculating, shapes, space and measures.

Understanding the World supports children in developing the knowledge, skills and understanding to help them make sense of their world. They should be able to explore creatures, people, plants and objects and use ICT to support and extend their learning.

Expressive Arts and Design supports children in developing their creativity by providing a range of opportunities, materials and media in which to express themselves and use their imagination. The children should be encouraged to explore and share their thoughts, feelings and ideas

At ENIS primary school we believe that our curriculum should be broad and balanced creativity offer opportunities which enable all our pupils to achieve irrespective of social background, culture, race, gender or academic ability.

The curriculum is all the planned activities that we organise in order to promote learning and personal growth and development. We ensure that curriculum meets statutory requirements through the delivery of;

  • The National curriculum (Nigeria) (Basic 1 to 6).
  • The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) (Years 1 to 6)
  • The international Primary Curriculum (IPC) (Years 1 to 6)

In addition to the formal planned requirements of the National Curriculum, the school ensures that the children experience a wide range of leaving opportunities that that challenges, stimulates and promotes the development of thinking and enquiry which will develop the pupils as lifelong learners. We aim to teach children how to grow into positive, responsible people, who can work and cooperate with others while developing knowledge and skills, so that they achieve their true potential
